Hi, hello, Hi!

Haha, I am aware that quite a few of you have been waiting for this blog. And I cannot express to you all how much that warms my heart. Thank you for being here. This blog is going to be a travel blog first and foremost. Having that said, there have been countless travel blogs that I had read before my first expedition and sure a few parts might have been informative, but they were all boringly unoriginal and basically just outlets so that bloggers could advertise companies so they could get free stuff.

In contrast, my blog will be something of a different breed. I want more for my blog and the lovely souls that decide to join me on my journeys, past and present and future. Not only will this blog give you insights on how to travel cheap and light while being tailored to your wants, but I will also be sharing my real life experiences on adventures, whether it be some magical advice from a girl in Spain, or a revelation while looking at the stars in California. This blog will be a bit personal at times and the definition of an adventure will be challenged to something anew. I could share about an expedition in Italy or could tell you about going to a lake an hour away from my hometown. An adventure doesn’t always have to be a grand one from the bucket list, it could be discovering a cute place to pick flowers just minutes from your house. An adventure is what we make of it.

Furthermore, I was going to name this blog The Confessions of a Lost Girl until I realized that the string of words “lost girl” do not entirely have the most positive connotation. I disagree with that popular opinion, you know. Why must feeling lost provoke pity or distaste from society? No no no. If anything the humility in a confession that pure and raw reveals perseverance and courage. Knowing and being able to openly admit that you are lost and finding solace in the fact that you have not a clue where life may take you in three months or three years is freedom. I find that so many of us are so insecure about not only ourselves, but our futures. What a fragile thing ego is, that it must merit pride and dishonesty to sustain itself in society.

Well to hell with ego. To hell with knowing anything for sure about life at nineteen or at any age. To hell with the expectations that others have of me. To hell with being overwhelmed with fear of the unknown. And with this liberating declaration, I find valor. I am a lost girl in a world that struggles to recognize itself and this is my confessional.

Now, are you all excited to come with me to Europe? Oh… did I not mention that? Yes, I am journeying across the Atlantic again to make some more memories.

For those of you that know me personally and got the chance to follow my journey by reading my mini blog posts on Facebook last summer (that mom made me write everyday), well, I am going to be doing that again. So, I will be journaling here everyday on my voyage. See you then!
